Venue: | Yorkshire Museum Yorkshire Museum and Gardens are next to Lendal Bridge, the main river bridge between York Railway Station and York Minster. The nearest car park is on Marygate, which is five minutes’ walk and has 350 spaces. Marygate is off Bootham, the A19, which is the main road into York from the north. The Legions of Rome are set to take over the historic York Museum Gardens on 25 & 26 June for a packed weekend of free family fun, including a Roman Living History camp, Kids Army, crafts, family activities – and “Roman” crime fiction! Come and meet Alison Morton, Jane Finnis and Ruth Downie, along with some other fantastic historical writers.
We’ll be right next door to the Yorkshire Museum, where you can discover some of Britain’s greatest Roman treasures – including the exciting new exhibition ‘The Ryedale Hoard: A Roman Mystery’.
