Come and join popular historical fiction author Deborah Swift at Whitehaven Library on Friday 30th June 2022.


Deborah Swift lives on the Cumbria/Lancashire border close to Morecambe Bay. Deborah used to be a set and costume designer for the theatre and TV but is now a USA Today bestselling author who has written fifteen historical novels to date. Her first novel, The Lady’s Slipper, set in 17th century Westmorland, was shortlisted for the Impress Prize, and her WW2 novel Past Encounters, set in Carnforth, was a BookViral Millennium Award winner.

The Poison Keeper tells the story of the legendary woman who poisoned 600 men in Renaissance Italy.
