We are delighted to welcome the return of Firmdale Book Salons, a new series of intimate events and ‘In Conversations’. Enjoy a glass of wine or non-alcoholic cocktail, take a seat in our Drawing Room and join renowned authors as they explore the stories, challenges and inspiration behind their bestselling works and discuss their latest books.
Our series begins on Thursday 23rd June with Sunday Times best selling authors Sarah Vaughan and Karin Slaughter who will join journalist and debut author Kate Maxwell for an in-depth conversation followed by an audience Q&A and book signing. Both authors have turned their novels to Netflix hits, with Sarah Vaughan’s Anatomy of a Scandal and Karin Slaughter’s Pieces of Her.
Tickets cost £20 per person and include a glass of wine on arrival.
Sarah Vaughan trained and worked as a broadsheet journalist for eleven years before becoming a fiction writer. Anatomy of a Scandal, her third novel was an instant international bestseller and translated into 22 languages, long-listed for the Theakston Old Peculiar Crime Novel of the Year 2018 and short-listed for the Audible Sounds of Crime Award, GoodReads Jury’s Out award, French Elle’s Prix des Lectrices and Richard & Judy’s ‘Best of the Decade’. Reputation, her fifth novel is out now.
Karin Slaughter is one of the world’s most popular and acclaimed storytellers. Published in 120 countries with more than 40 million copies sold across the globe, her 20 novels include the Grant County and Will Trent books, as well as the Edgar-nominated Cop Town and the instant Sunday Times bestselling novels Pretty Girls, Pieces of Her, The Good Daughter and The Silent Wife. This June sees the debut of her latest new thriller Girl, Forgotten.
