We will hear from crime fiction authorities Dr Bill Alder, Dr Anthony Howell and Dr Anne Grydehøj who will discuss the last century of crime fiction from the “Golden Age” of the 1920s to the modern “Europolar”. Topics covered will include reasons for the popularity of this literary form, the features of inter-war detective stories, the move from the dominance of English-language writers to the growing influence of authors in other languages and possible future developments in the genre.
