Join us for an evening with author J.C. Briggs as she talks us through some gruesome local true stories as part of National Crime Reading Month.
Thomas de Quincey, author, poet and opium addict, was editor of the Westmorland Gazette for eighteen months during 1818-1819. J.C. Briggs explores some of the extraordinary and sometimes gruesome stories on the front pages of our local newspaper in the nineteenth century.
