Celebrate National Crime Reading Month by joining novelist and historical writer Stephen Wade for a talk about the first of his series of historical crime novels featuring Anton Chekhov, ‘A kiss for murder’.
Stephen will talk about his research into imperial Russia for the book and include additional examples from his earlier books demonstrating the factual basis of storytelling, and the skills needed to give authenticity to a dramatic read.
If you are interested in knowing more about how writers research historical periods for convincing accuracy, or are thinking of writing your own historical fiction, this promises to be a fascinating insight from an established and experienced local writer.
Suitable for 16+
Stephen Wade is an author, lecturer and consultant who has written over 100 books, many of which are published by leading non-fiction and historical publisher Pen & Sword. His recent books include ‘The women writers’ revolution’ and ‘The worlds of Dorothy L. Sayers’.
