Sarah Hilary will be in conversation with Peter Yates, as they discuss their new crime novels set in the Peak District.

Sarah Hilary is the author of Sharp Glass and Black Thorn.  Her new book The Drowing Place is the first in a haunting new crime series in the Peak District, about a seemingly impossible crime that stirs up local superstitions. Set in a town steeped in history and horror, The Drowning Place introduces DS Joseph Ashe, a young man haunted by the ghosts of his past and struggling with survivor’s guilt, and DI Laurie Bower, an outsider fighting to fit in.

Peter Yates is the debut author of The Derbyshire Detective. Set in the 1960s, Detective Inspector Neil Webster has spent twenty five years dealing with the lowest forms of criminal life in Manchester.  Now he’s surrounded by wild moorland, farmers, hikers and… sheep?  Mystery ensues deep in rural Derbyshire.
