Join Fiona Veitch Smith as she talks about her new historical crime fiction series, the Miss
Clara Vale Mysteries. When chemistry graduate Clara Vale inherits a detective agency in
1929, she never dreams she will soon be investigating murders in picture houses, missing
fairy godmothers, and modern murder victims disguised as ancient mummies. From the
streets of Newcastle to the theatres of York, and onto the pyramids of Egypt, Miss Clara
Vale, forensic lady detective, investigates with Golden Age style. From the CWA Historical
Dagger shortlisted author of Poppy Denby Investigates.
