Free Crime Authors Event at Mickleover Library

Thursday 27th June 7:30pm start

To celebrate National Crime Reading Month Sue Wall will be interviewing local crime authors Jane Bettany, Mark Eklid and Steven Dunne at Mickleover library.

Jane Bettany’s debut novel, In Cold Blood, was the winner of the 2019 Gransnet and HQ writing competition. Jane’s first crime thriller series follows Detective Inspector Isabel Blood and is set in a fictional town in Derbyshire. Jane’s latest work is a cosy crime series featuring amateur sleuth Violet Brewster. Published by Harper Collins.

Mark Eklid was a newspaper sports journalist before switching to crime thrillers. Mark writes fast-moving, plot-twisting crime thrillers set in Sheffield. The Murder of Miss Perfect and Blood on Shakespeare’s Typewriter were published through SpellBound Books and his latest novel, The 23-Day Girlfriend, is due for release in June.

Steven Dunne’s Reaper series is set in Derby and follows Detective Damen Brook as he hunts the most ruthless killers in the region. Steven’s new crime thriller series Blood Summer has a more international feel and features a French detective, Serge Benoit. Steven is currently working on a sequel to Blood Summer.
