Ledburied welcomes Charlotte Philby and Joanna Wallace

Ledbury Books and Maps is delighted to announce that its crime writing festival, Ledburied, is hosting an evening with Charlotte Philby and Joanna Wallace on 20 June.

Charlotte Philby worked as a columnist, editor and reporter, and was shortlisted for the Cudlipp Prize for her investigative journalism at the 2013 Press Awards. She is the author of five novels, including Waterstones thriller of the month, Part of the Family, Times thriller of the year, A Double Life, and Edith and Kim, which explored the untold story of the woman who recruited her grandfather, the double agent Kim Philby, to the Soviet cause. The End of Summer, her new literary thriller, is out now.

Joanna Wallace studied Law at Birmingham University before working as a commercial litigation solicitor in London. She now runs a family business and lives in Buckinghamshire with her husband, four children and two dogs. Her first novel, You’d Look Better as a Ghost, was published by Viper in 2023 and won the Crime Fiction Lover Debut Novel Award. It was published by Penguin in the US in April 2024 where it was Barnes & Noble’s thriller of the month. Her second novel, The Dead Friend Project, will be published in July.

Tickets for the evening are on sale at Ledbury Books and Maps.

Ledburied is masterminded by Ledbury Books and Sarah Hilary – an award-winning crime writer who made Ledbury her home in 2021.
