Join us for a day long Crime extravaganza…

10.30 – 11.30 ‘Doing It For Ourselves’ with Lucy Brighton, Roshan Pitteea and BD Spargo, chaired by Liz Mistry.

An exciting panel featuring three brilliant self-published Northern crime fiction authors at the start of their careers. They will share the ups and downs of self-publishing, reveal the tricks of the trade that they’ve learned on their journey and talk to us about their books.

Lucy Brighton enjoys delving into the murky depths of thriller fiction, Roshan Pitteea’s fertile imagination skews towards the macabre and BD or Ben Spargo’s desire for a sports car turned him to a life of crime…

11:30- 12.00  Break with book signing.

12.00 – 12.45  Noir in the Library
The winner of ‘A Murder in the Library’ crime writing competition will be announced. Featuring readings from shortlisted entries.

12:45 – 1:30 – Lunch

1:30-2:30  ‘Why The Fascination With Murder?’ with Antony Johnston, C.E Rose and Catherine Yaffe, chaired by Liz Mistry.

An exploration of the murderous motives of both the authors and their villainous perpetrators when it comes to the act of murder.

The very versatile Antony Johnston has gone from Atomic Blonde (we’ll let him clear that one up) to babysitting dogs, to inviting his readers to solve murders. In her series, Catherine Yaffe offers psychological depth, twisty plots, and unforgettable characters whilst bringing authenticity and emotional Yorkshire grit to her work. Caroline England’s split personality means she also writes as C.E.Rose  – who knows who she’s here as today? Caroline writes multi-layered, dark and edgy ‘domestic suspense’ stories that delve into complicated relationships, secrets and the moral grey area.

2:30- 3pm Break with book signing.

3:15 – 4:45  ‘Can You Solve the Murder? Live!’ with Antony Johnston.
Join us for an unforgettable murder mystery evening with Antony Johnston, author of Can You Solve the Murder? Unleash your inner detective in a captivating, interactive experience designed specifically for live events. Work in teams to uncover hidden clues, interrogate suspects, and piece together the puzzle to identify the culprit. Will you be the one to crack the case? Don’t miss this unique opportunity to immerse yourself in a live, mystery-solving adventure that promises to be both thrilling and unforgettable!

Tickets are free, but cash donations on the day on a ‘pay as you feel’ basis are welcome.
