In celebration of National Crime Reading Month, local writer Stephen Wade will look at the history and development of crime writing, and in particular at true crime, from the early modern popular chapbooks through to modern gangland tales and serial killer casebooks.

Stephen Wade was born in Leeds and educated at the universities of Aberystwyth and Leeds. He has taught in further and higher education and has also worked as a writer in prisons. He has published over 50 books in fiction and non-fiction. He lives in North Lincolnshire.
